What are the check-in/check-out times?
Check-in is available after 16:00. Check-out is before 10:00. Both cottages operate self-check in via a secure lockbox. Arrival instructions are provided in advance of your stay.

How many guests can stay at Loch Cottages?
Scott Cottage accommodates a maximum of 5 guests. Wattie Cottage accommodates a maximum of 8 guests. Both properties are designed for families and small groups who value space, comfort and a peaceful setting.

How many bathrooms are there?
Scott Cottage has two bathrooms. One family bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower is on the ground floor. The upstairs bathroom includes a full heritage bath.
Wattie Cottage has a family bathroom with bath and overhead shower, two additional shower rooms including one en-suite, and a separate WC.

What kitchen facilities are provided?
Scott Cottage includes a fully equipped kitchen with Samsung refrigerator, induction cooker, stainless steel double oven, microwave, dishwasher, freezer, kettle, filter coffee maker, toaster, wine glasses and full crockery and utensils. Barbecue utensils are also provided.
Wattie Cottage includes a well-equipped kitchen with dining area, suitable for preparing full family meals. Cooking equipment, crockery and utensils are provided for full occupancy.
Both cottages are designed for practical self-catering rather than minimal holiday provision.

What living and entertainment facilities are available?
Scott Cottage includes an open plan living area with two large leather sofas, extendable dining table, wood burner, television, Samsung Bluetooth sound system and Nintendo Wii games console.
Wattie Cottage includes a spacious lounge with three sofas, large smart television and log burning stove.
Both properties provide board games and books.

What are the bedroom arrangements?
Scott Cottage offers three bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king bed and can accommodate a cot. The second bedroom has twin beds. The third bedroom has a single bed. Wattie Cottage offers four bedrooms. One twin bedroom is located on the ground floor. Upstairs there is one double bedroom and two king bedrooms, one of which has an en suite shower room. Cots can be accommodated in the king bedrooms.
Egyptian cotton bed linen by The Lyndon Company is provided in both cottages. Extra pillows and blankets are available.

Are the cottages suitable for children?
Yes. Both cottages work well for families.
Scott Cottage includes a travel cot, high-chair with straps and food tray, blackout blinds, children’s books and toys suitable for a wide range of ages, board games and a games console.
Wattie Cottage includes generous living space and a ground floor twin bedroom, which can be helpful for younger children or guests who prefer to avoid stairs.
As both cottages sit very close to Loch Katrine, children should be supervised outdoors in the same way you would at any waterfront setting.

Is there outdoor space?
Scott Cottage has a private back garden with outdoor furniture, outdoor dining area and barbecue. A raised garden area offers elevated views across Loch Katrine.
Wattie Cottage has a private back garden which is not fully fenced. Outdoor seating is available.
Both cottages are within a short walk of Loch Katrine, with access via the shoreline path.

Are pets allowed?
One well behaved dog is accepted at Scott Cottage.
Up to two well behaved dogs are welcome at Wattie Cottage.
Please confirm arrangements before booking. Assistance animals are always permitted.

Is the Lodge right on Loch Katrine?
Yes. The Lodge is waterfront. The gardens extend directly towards Loch Katrine and guests can access the lake from the shoreline. There is no road between the house and the water.

Is there WIFI at the property?
Yes. Both cottages have WIFI installed, providing reliable connectivity despite the rural setting.

Is heating provided?
Yes. Both cottages are fully heated and include an indoor fireplace or log burning stove. Wattie Cottage also has underfloor heating in the ground floor shower room.

Is there bike hire available nearby?
Aberfoyle and Trossachs Pier both have cycle hire, and there are some stunning trails throughout the forest, many on tarmac/gravel roads. The Steamship also carries bikes onboard.

How remote is Stronachlachar?
Stronachlachar sits at the western end of Loch Katrine. Aberfoyle is approximately eleven miles away and can be reached in around twenty-five minutes by car. There is a café at the pier within walking distance. The setting is peaceful and intentionally quiet.

Is housekeeping available?
Housekeeping can be arranged between 10:00 and 16:00 on Saturdays at additional cost. Please enquire in advance if this service is required.

Do supermarkets deliver?
Yes, the major supermarkets will deliver to Stronachlachar.

Are long term stays available?
Longer stays of 28 days or more may be arranged by prior agreement.

Is parking available?
Free parking is available on site for both cottages.

What is the cancellation policy?
Reservations at Loch Cottages are non refundable. We strongly recommend that guests arrange suitable travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances. If you have questions before confirming your booking, please contact us and we will be happy to clarify any details.
